Altercation Escalates: Nottingham City Center Erupts in Brawl Following Pub Dispute

|

Summary

In a recent city center incident captured on video by a passerby, a disturbing scene unfolded as a man was repeatedly kicked during a brawl. The footage, provided anonymously to Nottinghamshire Live, depicts a significant disturbance in Long Row, near Primark and The Exchange, occurring at 10:46 pm on Saturday, April 13.

The first clip reveals a group, including several youths, seemingly chasing after someone, while the second clip shows multiple individuals delivering blows to a person on the ground. A witness to the altercation expressed concern, stating, “I thought it was totally unfair. I was not sure of the cause of the problem. It’s not acceptable behavior. There were too many against one person on the ground.”

According to the witness, the altercation stemmed from an argument inside the Joseph Else Wetherspoon pub, eventually spilling out into Market Square and culminating in the altercation on Long Row.

The passerby, who had been at the pub alone, observed the escalating confrontation and decided to film the incident to document what was happening. The confrontation involved two men, who appeared to be homeless, against a group of approximately a dozen individuals.

As the altercation progressed, the group caught up with one man and proceeded to kick him while he was on the ground near the Hasty Tasty Pizza stand. The video captures several individuals delivering multiple blows, including some to the man’s head, before eventually walking away.

Fortunately, the man on the ground did not appear to sustain serious injuries. Nottinghamshire Police has been contacted for comment on the incident. Stay informed with the latest updates by joining us on WhatsApp.
